The pictured Carolina Metal Barn Kit has a secure and usable floor area of more than 1050 sq.ft; that is offered by the 36'W x 31'L x 12'H dimension of the structure. For the record, the great structural strength of the kit comes from the galvanized steel framework and the metal sidings.

Features of 36x31 Carolina Metal Barn Kits
Some of the features of this particular steel barn are standard to all of our Carolina metal barn kits, including the default 14-gauge tubular framing and the A-framed roof.
The boxed eave roof style allows the prefab metal barn to blend in with the architectural style of conventional houses. The horizontal panels of this roof style are better suited to withstand mild to moderate conditions. For heavy precipitations, vertical roofs are the best since they let the snow and water to slide off the roof.
The 12' wide raised aisle of the metal barn is fully enclosed on the ends, and there is a frame-out on the front end of this section. The frame-out is large enough to allow the smooth movement of small to large vehicles and equipment.
The fully enclosed 12'W x 31'L x 7' lean-tos also have a frame-out on their front end. These frame-outs, in addition to making the prefab metal barn more accessible, also add to its visual appeal. If you require, you can install roll-up or sliding metal barn doors to these frame-outs after the construction is finished.
Upgrades, like the 12-gauge framing, full enclosure with horizontal/vertical metal sidings, etc. are provided to reinforce the building further.
