For the Installation of the Metal Carport

What do I need to do to prepare the site before the installation crew arrives?

Before the installation crew arrives at the site, you will have to make sure that the site is ready for the construction. The major step you need to take for the site preparation is to make sure that the site is leveled. The installation crew will not be able to install a carport in a site with a level difference of more than 3” which can give rise to many problems during and after the construction of the carport. Level difference creates structural instability causing the carport to lean to a side, or develop cracks and leaks. If you plan to enclose the metal carport at a later date, then this type of instability will prevent the openings from functioning properly. You can also help out the crew by removing the debris or any other obstruction that can impede the construction process.

Adding Storage Space to a Metal Carport

Metal carports are perfect to park your cars or to store the kind of stuff that need easy access and can do with an open or partially enclosed shelter. But what if you need enclosed storage spaces with your metal carport to store belongings that require maximum protection against the elements and safety against human threats?

If you are in the process of purchasing a metal carport you can opt for Utility carports for that added storage space. Utility carports are the ideal mix of storage and parking spaces in a single structure. The garage-like storage section of the carport is completely enclosed and comes with all the customization options similar to a metal garage. The carport section is open or can be partially enclosed just like a metal carport.

For people who have already purchased a metal carport, they can add enclosed spaces by converting the carport to a metal garage. This is a very straightforward and simple process. The only thing you need to consider is the leg height of the carport which must be tall enough to accommodate the addition of the openings. When leg height is taken care of, you can easily cover the metal carport with metal panels on the side and the ends and install the openings.
